'We first met John at a Remodeler’s Showcase in 2000. We were looking at remodeling ideas, but were in no position to make any changes to our home. Knowing full well that our intentions were not to remodel in the near future, John still sat with us and modeled for us what it meant to be a master of your trade. Therefore, when we were ready to begin the process of remodeling, we thought of John.
What we quickly learned is that not only is John a good and honest person, but that he also has the unique ability to formulate a vision that not only matches the client's budget but also matches their day to day living needs. I can't tell you the number of times we sought his counsel with questions as open as ‘is this a good idea John?’ or ‘if we can only pick one of these ideas, where would you put your money?’. In each case, he steered us in the right direction. He also had his eye on our future, being sure to point out whether or not a structural decision would have an impact on a future remodeling needs.

‘We have worked with John on two projects: 1) a kitchen/dining room along with a living room remodel and 2) a remodel to build a guest suite including the addition of a new bathroom. We were very satisfied with the outcome of our first project, which lead us to want to work with John on the second remodel project.
John’s professionalism carried through from start to finish on each of our projects. His detail and knowledge in drafting the initial Scope of Work was so good that it eliminated almost all questions as we proceeded through the project. If we had questions whether something was to be included or if it was done different than we thought it should be done we always referred back to the Scope of Work. John was so detailed in his scope that it resolved all most all issues without having to place a call to him. When design concerns presented themselves during the planning or execution of the project John was always able to resolve them. We had an example where sub contractors said something could not be done. John came over and resolved the problem once he took a look at it and analyzed what needed to be done to resolve the issue.
We believe that John has the highest ethical standards. At the end of each construction project we remained totally satisfied with John’s work and his attention to detail. We had no disagreements during the construction process as John did such a detailed Scope of Work. Both projects were completed to the budget we set within the Scope of Work that John had competed at the start of the project.
We will recommend John to any of our friends who are considering a home remodel project.’

‘We have worked with John McGowan on two remodel projects. He is honest and straight forward, and was able to incorporate our ideas into designs that fit our personalities and lifestyle. John was sensitive to our financial limits and did not try to push us beyond what we were comfortable spending.
Based on John’s suggestions we made several revisions during the design process but after the project was complete we can honestly say that there was nothing that we wished we had changed.
